Court Blocks Transfer of Head Teachers.

The Civil\r\nDivision of the High Court issued a temporary injunction blocking Kampala\r\nCapital City Authority (KCCA) from effecting the transfer of three head\r\nteachers of Church of Uganda-founded primary schools until a substantive suit\r\nchallenging their transfer is heard. The injunction was issued by Deputy\r\nRegistrar, His Worship Tadeo Asiimwe.

The\r\ninjunction will stay in place until March 25, 2014 when the substantive\r\napplication for judicial review comes up for hearing before Hon. Lady Justice\r\nLydia Mugambe. KCCA lawyer Mr. Caleb Mugisha did not object to the injunction,\r\nclaiming that as long as it did not affect other transfers not complained of in\r\nthe suit.

Led by the Rev Canon, Jonathan Lubega, the Church in its\r\ncomplaint stated that it was the founder of Makerere, Kisugu and Ntinda primary\r\nschools but on December 18, 2013, the authority transferred the teachers\r\nwithout their permission, a move they claim is illegal.
